Let’s begin…

Some random facts about me are:

  1. I love reading, always have, always will.
  2. Am a yoga lover – I did my 1st class in Port Headland, Western Australia in 2015 as a friend of my sister’s was teaching there. I thought I would not be stretchy enough or enjoy it, however, 2 years later, I go weekly to about 4 class and have chosen it as my life long ‘sport’.
  3. Am left handed and wouldn’t have it any other way, but I still get smudge marks all over my pinky finger as I write.
  4. I don’t have a DSLR – I am in 2 minds about getting one, it is on my ‘do I really need this ‘ list.
  5. I have joined a foot photography group online in order to learn more about taking good shots and my favourite tip from there so far is using natural light (this does mean I have to start cooking earlier than I used to), but I can see the difference in the photos.
  6. Am not a ‘cat’ or ‘dog’ person – I like them both (and all other animals).
  7. I adopted Tonka Tuff, a black male cat 3 1/2 years ago from the animal shelter where I work. I have loved having him every minute of that time.
  8. My cat has one rule – No digging up the carpet with his nails (he breaks this rule all the time).
  9. If I leave my reading books near my bed, on my side table, Tonka will ‘chew’ the edges and the library doesn’t like that very much!!
  10. I love spelling and have always been good at it (as far as I can remember) .
  11. Love the water and swimming, but my skin burns super easily so I need to ‘slip, slop, slap’.
  12. Would rather get up and out or going on the weekends than sleep in.
  13. In 2018, I started a new hobby – Kokedama, or plants in twine balls. I was happy with my 1st attempt, but unfortunately I somehow decapitated my 2nd plant. (I am still wondering if Bunnings do refunds for plants cause technically it was not my fault and I still have both parts).
  14. My favourite song is Watching the Wheels by John Lennon (the you tube clip has old home movies of him, Yoko and Sean, I know the pictures by heart).
  15. I love Vietnamese food and Inala is my favourite place to have it in Queensland and Greaty Aunty Three in Surry Hills or Enmore in Sydney.
  16. When  I was 21 I went to Japan to teach English to children. I stayed for 1 1/2 yrs and climbed Mt Fuji whilst there.
  17. I am the youngest of 3 girls and I did ask mum for a brother when I was younger (she said no), I still think it would be nice to have grown up with one though.
  18. I can spend hrs staring off into space thinking and processing my thoughts.
  19. In 2018, I set a new goal on Goodreads to read 100 novels in a year. I wonder if this is unrealistic and I should have made it 60-80, but I like the motivation it gives me to keep the pages turning.
  20. Sometimes I cry when I see people on Who wants to be a millionaire win lots of money, it makes me happy to see them happy!
  21. I love watching Ted walks,  I find them inspiring and motivating. I will turn the tv off and go and watch one if I am getting bored, as the talks are usually short and full of insights and encouragement.
